Watching the new remake of Hunter X Hunter (2011) reminded me why I loved the manga so much. It’s full of energy and dark twist, new world waiting to be discovered with dangerous creatures to be found. Hunter X Hunter influenced me greatly and I’ve always, for the past 8 years, wanted to write a homage story to it. I’ve span so many variations of that homage story I couldn’t remember all of them, but even now I still keep the oldest ones and read it sometimes. It’s not an exaggeration to say that HxH is one of the strongest core in myself, as a manga fan and as a writer-wannabe. Which is why I couldn’t bear to read the Ant arc. Something bad happened to Togashi and it nearly ruined his manga, I don’t know anything about Togashi so I don’t want to spectacular or get mad at him, but some of the chapters in that arc look like they came straight out of his sketch book. When they didn’t even use assistants to keep the art quality to some extent, I doubt Togashi is really ready to write a good story. I’ve put HxH on hold for a long time, and I don’t think I want to pick it up anytime soon, not until Togashi’s back and know what he’s doing to his dear manga.
That aside, I really like the first episode of this remake, they’re better then the original overall and give off the same feel with the manga. There is this complaint that I couldn’t pass though: Mito’s seiyuu is HORRIBLE! The girl is supposed to be in her 20s but she sounds like an old woman, really made me wonder if they didn’t mix up her role with the elder that talked with her. Anyway I’ll follow this anime and hope they continue to do a good job of it.

- The animation: The color was so pale and blurry that I had to double checked if I really downloaded the 720P version. Hourou Musuko would have the worst color palette ever if not for Marimite. Watching the first episode was so tiresome and bad for my eyes.
- Characters: They’re alright, nothing special yet. I don’t like Nitori though, had enough with little crybaby.
- Pacing: Slow and smoothly but the flashback was so freaking unnecessary, I hate them with a passion. Stupid choice.
All in all Hourou Musuko wasn’t as good as I expected. It was quite… boring… -_-;; I don’t know why but the way they presented it made me feel so bored. Watching Fractale right before this didn’t help either since that show wasn’t good and it kind of put my mood down. Maybe the next episode will be better?

I almost raged when I noticed that all female otakus in Genshiken are yaoi-fangirls and wanted to bash the author (again). But then I thought about it again and realized I don’t remember much about what the male otakus like >___>;; The subject of their interests wasn’t mentioned much and my memory isn’t very good either. But it’s probably safe to assume that they all like moe/harem and stuffs like that because a) they like visual novels, b) Kujibiku Unbalance is a harem show. Which means not only the girls are stereotype, the boys are stereotype too….
Well I guess he only like to depict that part of the fandom or maybe he doesn’t know much anything about the rest.

I watched Starry Sky episode 3 and was surprised at Tsubasa’s voice, it’s totally the same with Ryutaros in Kamen Rider Den-O! So then I went to check and it’s true, Suzumura Kenichi voiced both Tsubasa and Ryutaros xD I don’t know why he used the exact same voice, for someone like me who can’t tell any seiyuu apart to realize his voice, he must have been too lazy to change
I don’t mind though, his voice is really cute and I like it~ Also, checking his list, I saw that he also voiced Rakushun in Juuni Kokuki which is a little unexpected. I’m watching that anime and I did think Rakushun’s voice sounds different to other characters and it’s a little familiar, but the idea of knowing Rakushun’s seiyuu never came to mind.

Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica is nice,I like the first episode and will continue watching it. The “magic world” and fighting scenes are really cool, couple with the great music and it’s was on the exellent scale xD I absolutely hate the character design though, stupid choice of artist on their part. Anyway, looking forward to episode 2, hope the characters will be interesting.

E-music is the popular and talented football player that I often come to see his play.
K-music is the idol in my class that I have a shallow crush on and forget about as soon as he stop being in the same class.
C-music is the childhood friend that I no longer want to hang out with and have come to dislike.
J-music is my true lover for life.

Anime aired in 2010 that I’ve (nearly) finished watching, in alphabetical order:
- Angel Beats: Horrible anime. The flow is bad, inconsistent, the characters are boring and cliche, the story is full of plot holes and just a big mess. But the worst thing about Angel Beats was how the director tried to tell the viewers what to do, the best example would be Kanade’s story, the main character (forgot his name) kept chanting “she is such a poor, sad girl, she has such a tragedy past blah blah”. Right Maeda Jun was telling you to feel sorry for her and love her, do it. No fuck you Maeda. Well at least the Opening PV and Opening song was good, I really like the Ending song – “Brave song” too.
- Arakawa under the Bridge: I forgot most of it, but when I watched it I liked it enough to add to my favourite list so it must be good, probably. Gotta rewatch it….
- Arakawa under the Bridge x Bridge: It’s pretty fun but kind of all over the place. Actually that would be fine if there was no plot like Ika Musume but there was actually something about Nino’s past. Alas, they never went anywhere with the story. I also don’t understand the appeal of Nino, many people keep praising her for being so deep, wonderful, complicated, fascinating but I only see her as a weirdo like every other characters in the series, and a pretty boring one at that, can’t see any personality whatsoever. The best thing about this second season is Billy and the Ending song – Red coat.
- Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu: Best example of how you can lose your own judgment because of the crowd. When I first watched it I really thought it was a great comedy anime, Hideyoshi was a really cool trap, Shouko was a little too much but cute in her own way along with many other fans. Now that I’ve escaped the crowd, looking back, my thought changed totally. Baka to Test is an average comedy, I did laugh a bit here and there but it’s not great. Hideyoshi is only a gimmick the creators tried to make, he is alright as a character but there is nothing special nor interesting about him. Shouko is just another yandere character that I can’t stand. All in all, Baka to Test is simply a forgettable comedy.
- Black Rock Shooter: Good animation, nice fighting scene, stupid story about love (yes love, friendship doesn’t work that way). An average anime at best. My proposal: cut the BRS world scenes and make a music video out of them, it’d be so much better. And I’m sure many people would think so too.
- Durarara!!: Everything was good and cool until the story focused on how emo and immature the trio are. I also want to take a piss on the shallow people who like Anri because she has big boobs and her power is cool. Who needs personality? Anyway, I hate her, emo coward Mikado and Masaomi are annoying but she is worse. I especially hate her personality, admitting herself all of her bad points doesn’t make her any better if she doesn’t have any intention of improving or making up for them, they are still bad. And well, she is more emo than Mikado and Masaomi, if that is even possible. Brains Base spent too much fucking time on the trio, they should have just make it short to move on more interesting events. There are so many interesting characters but they have too little screen time for me to like them. It’s impossible for me to like a character that I know so little. Or maybe I was so overwhelmed by the horrible last arc that I forgot everything else. I need to rewatch Durarara!!.
- Heartcatch Precure: I’ve read a few blogs about it and decided to give it a try. I’m glad I did because Heartcatch Precure is a great anime.
- Kami nomi zo Shiru Sekai: I read a few chapters of the manga, thought it’s pretty nice, but I hated the manga’s art because most characters kept blushing like they had a permanent fever. So I decided to watch the anime instead. It’s anything but a good decision because the anime is pretty bad. There are only 2 episodes that I like and both of them are fillers. It’s average at best, I’m not watching the second season.
- Katanagatari: I hate the 2 main characters, and this anime is character-driven. It’s not bad, I just hate it, at least it’s better than Bakemonogatari. Another bad decision of mine, I only watched Katanagatari because it has the same author with Bakemonogatari, but least now that I know his stories don’t worth my time.
- Kuragehime: This anime’s really fun to watch but omg the ending, it’s so freaking abrupt! It’s like watching Moyashimon all over again, everything was cool and entertaining until the ending: “Huh? What? Is that it???”. At least some group is translating Kuragehime manga.
- Ladies vs Butlers: I watched it because I liked the art style, bad and shallow decision.
- MM!: This show is pretty nice but kind of forgettable. Yuuno is cute but they screwed up her character in the later half and nothing got solved. Still the first few episodes were pretty good and some of the comedy episodes were really hillarious, the ending was quite sweet too.
- Otome Youkai Zakuro: Riken x Susuki Hotaru are really cute together~ I like Zakuro’s mother’s story. Overall it’s a good anime but it’s just above average, there is not much to talk about.
- Seikimatsu Occult Gakuin: I totally don’t know how I feel/ think about this anime, it’s kind of… weird. The beginning and ending was really good though.
- Shiki: I don’t like horror but Shiki is a great anime. I don’t understand people’s love for Sunako and Muroi at all though, I find them boring and sometimes annoying. That is why I didn’t really like the last episode when Sunako and Muroi survived and escaped Sotoba, it’d be so much better to let Tatsumi take Sunako away. Muroi came back from death to become a superman is kind of stupid.
- Shinryaku! Ika Musume: A very entertaining anime, it’d be nice if they make a second season. Ika Musume is a especially fun character to watch, her imaginations and reactions are really hilarious. Though most of the casts are boring and cliche, some are borderline annoying, I only like Eiko and Koyomi.
- Sora no Oto: Pretentious, bad characters, boring story, generic character design, good animation.
- Tatakau Shisho: The Book of Bantorra: Great anime but I’ll need to watch it again to put all of my thought together.
- Tantei Opera Milky Holmes: One of the shows I really enjoyed. The drama was kinda out of place and I can do with less Twenty but it’s a good comedy show nonetheless.

Surprisingly (or not) the best example isn’t anyone in the Nunz but Kuranosuke himself.
Everyone in Amamizukan has a passionate love for something, they collect items and treasure them. Kuranosuke also has a passion for fashion and clothing but instead of understanding the Amamizukan’s feeling he ignores them and treats their treasures like meaningless objects. He was such a dick in this episode I almost raged. It’s not like Kuranosuke is better than the Amamizukan, he spends tons of money on his hobby and refuses to give them up for anything else. If anything he just has a rich dad and has more common senses.
Some bloggers I read seem to like Kuranosuke because he is stylish, funny, handsome and criticizes the Nunz heavily because of their lifestyles, behaviors and appearances. While I think Kuranosuke is fun and the Nunz have some serious problems, I also think those bloggers are ignoring Kuranosuke’s bad points and they are a bunch of jerks, hypocrites when they focus on the Nunz’s weird actions and ugly looks. Sure their lifestyles are bad but it’s a sin to be ugly and true to yourself now huh? Fuckass.
Sasahara (Genshiken) and the main male character in Spotted Flower should be burned to dead
Fuck Kio Shimoku and his pathetic bf characters
